30am PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This is a non-exempt position in the Community Development Department, responsible for insuring compliance with City codes and ordinances as they relate to property.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Patrols city to insure compliance with city codes and regulations.
Investigates complaints from the public regarding public nuisances such as abandoned, wrecked or non-operational vehicles, obstructions to public easements, weeds, trash, etc.
Maintains an organized, time-sensitive filing system to ensure compliance with city, county and state requirements.
Works with county government personnel to file correct, timely and necessary documentation.
Communicates with citizens and city employees to receive and provide information.
Contacts property owners and the general public regarding possible code violations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school education or equivalent.
Valid Oklahoma driver license.
Driving record acceptable to the City's insurer.
Extensive knowledge of local and federal codes and regulations.
Skill in communicating effectively.
Ability to exercise judgment, tact and diplomacy in enforcing codes and ordinances.
Ability to comprehend lengthy ordinances, codes, and regulations.
Ability to work independently with little supervision.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Indoors and outdoors year round.
Strength to lift approximately 50 pounds Normal physical ability.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
