Childcare Attendant I SALARY:
$8.
00/HR HOURS:
Primarily Monday - Friday mornings, 8am to Noon or afternoon/evenings, 4-8pm Purpose of Position:
This is a non-exempt part time position in the Parks and Recreation Department that will be responsible for the care and well-being of children in the childcare rooms.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to Head Childcare Attendant Essential Duties Maintain a strong dedication to high quality customer service.
Create a friendly, professional, and positive first impression with general public through a professional and friendly demeanor including dress, and personal grooming Greet and make children feel welcome.
Ensuring proper procedures are followed to maintain safety and control of the check-in and out process Comfort and meet the psychological and physical needs of the children through age appropriate play, physical contact including holding, and other techniques to ensure a pleasant and safe experience for the children while they are in care.
Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the childcare areas to ensure the over-all safety of the children entrusted to our care Keep parents informed of all incidents, and complete appropriate forms.
Maintain a positive attitude and reflect that attitude in all relationships.
Keep supervisor advised of any issues or concerns.
Ask for assistance as needed.
Follow all safety guidelines, city and department policies and procedures.
Must report to work on a regular and timely basis.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Training and Experience Experience working with infants or young children Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills Ability to work well and communicate effectively with children and adults Ability to work with minimal supervision Physical Requirements Average physical condition is needed to keep up with active children.
Able to lift, hold infants and young children.
License and Certificates Possess and maintain Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification (or equivalent) within three months of employment.
Possess and maintain workplace harassment training and blood borne pathogen training within three months of employment.
Work Environment Work will be indoors.
Standing, bending, stooping, picking up and holding infants and toddlers.
Play active games and keep up with young children.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
